Baron Hartley Wine's Story

 We’re a family-run wine bar with roots that go back to a small wine shop in Bolton, originally owned by Brian Baron. Over the years, we became close friends with Brian, and when the time was right, we had the chance to take over and carry his legacy forward. What began as a humble shop has grown into the cosy, buzzing space we have today — a place built on friendship, passion, and a genuine love for good wine and good company. 

 We opened our wine bar in November 2023, building everything from the ground up — quite literally. What started as an empty shell became a space filled with warmth, wine, and community. We’re constantly learning and improving, doing our best to create a welcoming environment where people can relax, try something new, and enjoy the moment. 

 We believe wine should be enjoyed, not overcomplicated. Our goal is to create a space where curiosity is welcome, and there’s no such thing as a silly question.  We’ve created the kind of place we’d want to spend time in — intimate, relaxed, and full of character. Whether it’s a quiet midweek glass or a lively Saturday with friends, we want people to feel at home here.  It’s the simple moments that keep us going — introducing someone to a new favourite wine, hearing laughter at a table, or seeing guests come back time and again. That’s why we do this.
